Now that the numbers are dwindling, there is no question that a major target for the GB is children. Almost from the very beginning of the speech, in minute 6:15 of the second hour, G.L. thanks people for bringing their children, thanks children for being there, mentions that Jehovah and Jesus are happy for children being there. Then he cites the Bible regarding how Jesus asks to let children approach him because the Kingdom of heaven belongs to those that are like children (Mark 10:14), then he says "Jehovah loves children, the Governing Body loves children too"
Then, around minute 17 G.L. attacks higher education. Dangers of higer education are:
1. Time left before the end is "reduced". Higher education is not a good way to spend that time
2. Places of higher education promote independent thinking and make you look down on those without higher education
3. Pursuing higher education may show that you don't love Jehovah. You can not serve two masters at the same time
4. Shows that you don't trust Jehovah
5. Universities promote the thinking of this [wicked] system of things
Then he gives the example of a man with ocd that washes his hands 100 times a day and gets tired of it. Puts a gun to his mouth and fortunately "kills" only the part of his brain that affected his OCD. Problem fixed..."however", he asked, "would you take a similar risk by pursuing higher education, which endanger your spirituality???? etc, etc.
Parents, get your children indoors and lock your doors, the GB is looking for slaves to support their profligate lives (three gold rings!!!!)

For 2 years, soon after my daughter's baptism, I have been exchanging many emails with an elder of her congregation. Good man, but he is a JW and he just drove me to the brink of madness recently; that was the drop the spill the water. It's a cult. The guy is intelligent and fairly well educated, but he, my two brothers, another elder, and few JW friends have led me to believe that they are beyond repair and I am wasting an important part of my life, so I am putting this business of JW's behind. I am putting all my apostate books, ancient history books, bibles, and biblical scholarship studies away. Even my science and astronomy books have to go. They always remind me of how dishonest the WT is when they misquote great scientists and thinkers. I am also stopping my visits to ex JW's websites. I need to enjoy life again; free myself from the insidious influence of the WT.
Thank you all for your help. I got to pull my son out on time thanks to you. My son is a wonderful young man with more heart than brains and yet he scored an IQ of 145. Straight A student, never a B in his entire life. Ranked number one in his graduation from junior high (out of 350). Now that he is in his freshman year, he is part of the swim team (practices 2 1/2 hours a day), he volunteers in the library, animal shelter, and city sponsored events. He also participates in a Boys and Girls Club sponsored by Disney and other deep pockets here in California. He and two friends last Friday just won, in a young inventors competition, the opportunity to go to Paris, France with all expenses paid to present their invention. I won't give details lest someone steals the idea that may potentially become valuable intelectual property. He is one hell of a kid who happens to be reading Crisis of Conscience. He must be out of the cult by now. But I won't take my chances. I will feed him more Ray Franz and Carl Olof Jonsson by the time he is giving his valedictorian speech, three years from now. My middle finger goes to the Governing Body with great pleasure because, thanks to you all, I stole a District.. (oops, I forgot the WT changes too fast) a Circuit Overseer.
I am glad I have planted the seed of apostasy with my family and others. I hope some of the translations that I made of apostate articles to Spanish have helped, or will help, someone. I am very hopeful that the bright future awaiting my son should serve as a good example of what happens when you give the middle finger to the WT. I hope many parents and their children get to see the difference. Sadly, in my 22 years of association with JW's I have witnessed how dozens of young kids lives are ruined by this cult. They are not accepted by the WT and have a hard time adjusting to the real world. Sad, very sad!
Regarding my baptized daughter, things are harder, but I am glad she is attending university come next fall. I am confident that she will see the BS before she graduates in four years.
My sincere apologies to anyone whom I have offended. I am leaving as a better person than when I just visited the first time, a man who is no longer indifferent to the plight of disfellowshipped men and women, and also very willing to help homosexuals reach equality in every possible way. Thank you for the transformation. Thank you for waking me up to the reality behind the love bombing at kingdom halls.

Sorry to read what you are going through. I know that there's always a clear sky after the storm. It's not a matter of faith, but a matter of my personal experience. You will be fine. There are a lot of good people out there that can share their joy of lfe. just don't expect them to come knocking at your doors. They may, but it's better that you search for them. They are enjoying a hobby, they are volunteering, they are into sports, they are persuing careers, they may be in clubs of one sort or another. Life is beautiful, it is out of view right now, but you will see its beauty soon.

If that's so, why would the watchtower quote over and over and over again from Bible scholars, historians, biologists, archaeologists, engineers, etc. Since those experts are incapable of understanding spirituality, what authority does the WT appeal to. Were they spiritual before the change or after the change. Were they spiritual when the FDS was Charles T. Russell, or when the FDS was the anointed, or the FDS is the current Governing Body. You have to choose which is the spiritual period of the Watchtower so we can denounce the impostors. Who is (are) the impostor(s), Russell, Rutherford and Franz, or the current Governing Body? Following is my exchange with an elder whom I bombarded with many questions of JW doctrine (false prophecies and changed doctrine) and contradictions in the Bible. He pretty much remains silent or evasive. Always answers very respectfully. He is a prominent elder, who always speaks in conventions. He is the assistant (replacement) of the C.O. The whole family is very well known because there are lawyers in Bethel, C.O.'s, and elders. No more details because he can easily be identified by anyone living in his area. Enjoy his circular reasoning that goes like this.
Scripture is from God. Only spiritual people can read scripture. i declare I am spiritual, you are not. therefore I understand scripture, you don't.

I know changes and errors are a big worry for you, [he is referring to all the WT screw ups that I have brought to his attention]and I understand why. Seen from your point of view, it's logical to conclude what you have concluded. But, from what I have read in the Greek Scriptures, there were many problems back then too. That, in and of itself, did not mean those were not true Christians. They were simply imperfect, as we all are.
There is, however, one big difference between then and now. You can read about it in the reasoning book, under the subject "Jehovah's Witnesses". Whereas the apostles were inspired to write what they wrote, today's Governing body has never professed to be inspired.
I think one of the reasons we disagree so much is that we each look at life very differently. I see things in a spiritual (religious) light, you see them in afleshly (pragmatic) light. We each persue different ends, we have a different outlook on the past, present and future… You may think I'm just dodging the issue. I understand that. But logic tells me we are just not on the same page, and will never agree until we are.Elder

I want to believe that I am in the page of the "scientific" approach. I hope I adhere to the group that tries to explain phenomena that can be confirmed with our five senses and leave the rest, the invisible and capricious, to religion and religious… I believe that religious dogma is a waste of the human intellect that may keep some people happy, but parasitic and burdensome to the rest (doctors, scientists, engineers, inventors, etc) who are succesfully solving the challenges facing humanity….I rather direct my efforts towards the satisfaction of the very tangible needs of my fellow humans than spin my wheels spreading dogma that only serves to confirm the beliefs of the dwellers of Plato's cave.

I see your point, I really do. My view is based on 1 Corinthians 2:14 which I quote, not to refute what you say, but because it is true: " 14 But a physical man does not accept* the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know them, because they are examined spiritually. 15 However, the spiritual man examines all things,+ but he himself is not examined by any man. 16 For “who has come to know the mind of Jehovah,* so that he may instruct him?”+ But we do have the mind of Christ.+" It has to do with point of view, so, it is very hard, next to impossible, to change a deeply entrenched point of view, such as yours and mine.

Agree. But it doesn't mean that every part of your belief system is so divorced from mine that it is impossible to test it using agreed upon conventions. And with a modicum of honesty, in your part and my part, determine its flaws and weaknesses. The obstacle to testing some of your beliefs is not agreeing on a standard, but rather your total refusal to even take the test. Do you remember your reaction to my suggestion to do an in-depth research of the article "When Was Ancient Jerusalem Destroyed" using the very same resources the WT researchers use to support their claims.
While I admit that I still don't precisely grasp what people mean when they say "spirituality", I don't deny that there's something marvelous and mysterious about life and the mind, but I refuse to speculate lest I commit the "argument from ignorance". I will let religious people have their never ending speculations and debates about divine purpose and interpretation of scripture. I can assess scripture only by its ability to describe reality as perceived by the senses and confirmed objectively. So I won't even start a debate regarding the existence of God. However, I can assess, for example, "past events" such as creation and the flood because we have reliable methods and evidence to confirm or disconfirm them. Regarding religion, because it consist of perceivable actions and claims by humans, can be assessed using methods similar to those used by scientists and historians.

I do not agree with your conclusion that you can analyze Acripture on your own. Of course, my basis for believing so is Scriptural. 1 Corinthians 2:11: "11 For who among men knows the things of a man except the man’s spirit within him? So, too, no one has come to know the things of God except the spirit of God". But it is also logical.
For example, would we expect a person with no knowledgeof Mathematics to understand complicated equations. First some rudimentary knowledge is needed, and then, depending on the difficulty, some private tutoring may be necessary.
It's just as Jesus also said at Luke 10:21 "In that very hour he became overjoyed in the holy spirit and said: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones+ and have revealed them to young children. Yes, O Father, because this is the way you approved."
It also seems logical that a fair God would allow all persons, even those with very little education, to understand his Word. How? By helping them, with his Holy Spirit, with his Word and with his people. Don't you agree?Elder

by wisdomfrombelow inthe article addressed luke 20:34-36 and now they finally admit jesus could have been referring to the heavenly resurrection.
they said "put simply, the answer is that we cannot say" which is surprising because they have something to say about everything.
perhaps all the old people who are waiting the new world as widow and widowers want to know if they have a chance to be reunited with their dead loved one.
